EHS girls compete in preliminary events at EIU today; Lincoln, Liberty in E. Peoria for IESA Final; Tiger relay teams among fastest in state

The Tigers qualified two relay teams for the state finals this weekend, the 4 X 200 meter (above) and the 4 X 400 meter (see photos below). The 4 X 4 team includes (top photo to bottom) Senior Madi Pranger, Junior Laila Jason, Freshman Meih Huddleston, and Junior Shanice Rice. The team qualified for state by placing 2nd at the sectional meet in O'Fallon in a time of 3:58.39, the third-fastest qualifying time among Class 3A schools in Illinois. The 4 X 200 meter relay team includes Madi Pranger, Shanice Rice, Meih Huddleston and Laila Jason. The team qualified for state in a time of 1:43.06, which ranks 4th among state qualifiers. Of the top seven fastest 4 X 200 relay teams in the state, based on qualifying times, five are from the Southwestern Conference.
