EHS girls grab 4th at State; boys tie for 2nd at sectionals; Henderson is state champ in discus; Rice brings home 4 medals; all six athletes medal
The six EHS athletes pictured above competed against the best track & field teams from all the large schools in Illinois Saturday--and came in fourth in the state. Six athletes--Shanice Rice, Laila Jason, Hannah Faulkner, Meih Huddleston, Lauren White and Emmonnie Henderson. Each one brought home at least one medal. Shanice Rice brought home four, and Freshman Emmonnie Henderson came back with an individual state championship in the shot put. To take just six athletes to the State Finals and finish 4th requires each person to score, to do her best. And that's what these six Tigers did. Congratulations! Photos/Tom Atwood
